‘Boots’ scoot boogie

A famous sidekick steps into the limelight this Friday when Shrek’s suave assassin-turned-friend Puss in Boots gets his own feature film comedy. Once again voiced by Antonio Banderas—channeling his hushed Zoro tones more than ever—this stand-alone episode follows the deadly cat’s sword-slinging escapades leading up to his fateful meeting with the grumpy green ogre. Other fairy tale icons get makeovers in this family-friendly comedy, including Humpty Dumpty, Jaks and Jill and more. Salma Hayek stars as Puss’ feisty love interest Kitty Softpaws. Zach Galifianakis and Amy Sedaris also lend their voices. Rated PG.
