Blasting off into the PreSonuSphere – PreSonus’ 2013 User Conference kicks off Thursday

Budding musicians, mix-masters and audiophiles will want to get a ticket for PreSonus’ third annual user conference, PreSonuSphere 2013.

The event takes place at Manship Theatre and features major industry players, performers and producers giving tips and discussing how to use PreSonus’ line of gear, including digital mixers, speakers, preamps and channel strips.

Among the presenters are author/editor Craig Anderton, Fulcrum Acoustic speaker-design guru Dave Gunness, famed studio designer John Storyk and many more.

Festivities kick off Thursday evening with a pre-party jambalaya feed and free concert. The feed is free for all Friday-only and two-day attendees and includes drinks tickets plus a cash bar. The Chris LeBlanc Blues Band and L’Angelus will perform.

The conference includes workshops and discussions, starting at 8 a.m. Friday. Topics range from MIDI controller programming, advanced production, and insight from industry players like Martin Atkins, John Mills and many more. The night concludes with a concert from Royal Teeth at 7 p.m.

PreSonuSphere continues Saturday with more workshops, starting at 9 a.m. Among the key classes are hip hop production tips, how to use PreSonus products in the classroom and an informative session with Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, keyboardist and record producer Teddy Riley, who will be showing off how he uses the program Studio One. A closing ceremony will be held at 5 p.m.

One and two-day passes are still available, but online registration is closed. Walk-up registration begins at 4 p.m. Thursday, 7 a.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday.
