Brian Oliver is the definition of a Southern gentleman. Polite, respectful, well-dressed and humble—but too humble to admit he’s humble.

And on a first date, there’s no question who’s paying.

“I always pay. I think the guy, that’s their role. They should take care of the girl from the very beginning,” he says.

Oliver, 33, is a Baton Rouge native. He went to Catholic High School, left for a little while to play college football in Arkansas and Kansas, and then returned for the foreseeable future.

He’s a self-proclaimed health nut and loves to travel, especially to visit his brother in Chicago. He’s a big fan of film, too.

“If I love a movie, I’ll watch it over and over again. I’ll study it,” he says, adding that his favorite film is Oceans 11.

His biggest dream is to one day start a non-profit and give back to the community that’s given him so much.

“I’m all about helping people,” he says. Spoken like a true gentleman.

Describe yourself in three words. “Confident, caring, thoughtful.”

If your house were on fire and you could only save one thing, what would it be? “I’m a watch collector, so I would probably jump to saving as many of those as I possibly could.”

Thoughts on the Baton Rouge dating scene? “There’s a nice variety of people. There’s a number of new places to meet new people. I’m not a huge fan of online dating, so I’d prefer to see people in person.”

What do you look for in a partner? “A smart individual, someone who makes me laugh. Someone who’s accomplished. I prefer a confident individual. Someone who could walk into the room as if they own it.”

Ideal date? “Sitting down at a nice, early dinner at Ruffino’s and hitting an early 9 o’clock movie at Perkins Rowe. I would pick her up and drop her off, of course.”

She is obsessed with restaurant interiors, sparkling water, Scorpio astrology memes and, admittedly, the word “obsessed.” She is willing to travel to see indie bands in concert, but even better if they play a show at Chelsea’s Live.
