‘Battle’ tested

At the tale end of a long and storied career, Marine Aaron Eckhart is called to duty one last time to defend the California coast when a technologically-frightening alien race invades the Earth in this Friday’s Battle: Los Angeles. Eckhart leads a platoon of roughneck soldiers against the invading aliens as they try to survive long enough to figure out what the aliens want and how to stop them. Shot documentary style and wrapped with realistic news footage and startling views of alien aircraft careening through the skies, much of Battle: Los Angeles was filmed in Louisiana, and Baton Rouge, in particular, standing in for sections of Orange County.
