Baton Rouge State Fair

The Greater Baton Rouge State Fair kicks off this Thursday until Nov. 4 with rides, food and music for all ages. You and your kids can munch on cotton candy while taking in the view from the top of the fair’s giant Ferris wheel. Groove to funky live music acts all day, including the Allison Collins Band and Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience. Pony rides, petting zoos, a jam and jelly competition and a mutton bustin’ challenge are just a few of the fun, family-friendly events you can enjoy. General admission is $5, and $20 gets you a ride-all-day wristband for the dozens of carnival rides. The fairgrounds are seven miles south of I-12 at Bayou Manchac.
