Baton Rouge says bye-bye to Bucky

-

Architectural historian Michael Desmond of the LSU School of Architecture will share his insights on R. Buckminster Fuller and the recently demolished Union Tank Car Dome in North Baton Rouge on Thursday, Feb. 28 at the Old Governor’s Mansion. Presented by the Foundation for Historical Louisiana, this one-hour lecture will highlight the bright spots of Bucky’s life and ideas, including an introduction to the specifics of geodesic geometry as it applies to the Baton Rouge dome. Wines and cheese will be served, compliments of Calandro’s. The lecture begins at 6 p.m. and is free to Foundation members and $10 for non-members. Call 387-2464 or visit to fhl.org for details.
