Baton Rouge Jewish Film Festival
-
The documentary Jewish Soldiers in Blue and Gray, highlighting the struggles between Jewish families on both sides of the American Civil War, opens this year’s Baton Rouge Jewish Film Festival, a cinematic exploration of the Jewish cultural experience that you can enjoy from a cozy seat in the Manship Theatre. Films range from the fancifully romantic The Matchmaker, which follows an unlikely couple who find romance at a movie theatre run by seven dwarves, to the offbeat comedy The Infidel, about a Muslim man discovering his Jewish heritage—and enlisting a Jewish friend to teach him to fit in. Tickets are $8.50 per screening. The full schedule can be found at manshiptheatre.org. (Image courtesy BRJFF)
