Bastille Day, Louisiana-style

Celebrate France’s independence day at the Old State Capitol Thursday. Secretary of State Tom Schedler will host a discussion called “Bastille Day: Our Louisiana French Connection Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” in the former House chamber at 5 p.m. The list of guest speakers includes president of CODOFIL Dr. Bill Arceneaux, the Louisiana State Archives’ Dr. Florent Hardy Jr. and Site Manager at SNF Flopam Paul West, with special guest Jean Claude Brunet, consul general of France and New Orleans, in attendance. A reception will follow.
