Ballet on the big screen at Manship
Get a dose of culture this weekend as the Manship Theatre presents a screening of the ballet Don Quixote by the Bolshoi Ballet Saturday at 2 p.m. Based on the classic novel of the same name, the ballet follows the misadventures of the eponymous Don Quixote as he attempts to live the life of a knight errant in 17th century Spain. Prima Ballerina Natalia Osipova stars as Kitri, the woman Don Quixote believes to be his Dulcinea, the woman of his dreams. Ivan Vasiliev stars as Kitri’s true love, Basilio. Tickets for this classical ballet with a Spanish twist are $16.50 and $12 for students and seniors at manshiptheatre.org.
