Ballet goes contemporary at Manship

This Saturday and Sunday at the Manship Theatre, the Willow Oak Contemporary Ballet will present “An Evening of Dance” showcasing four premiere choreographic works by artistic director Tamu Wilson Ortenzio, ranging in style from neo-classical ballet to contemporary. This hip New York-based company will present fresh, genre-crossing collaborations that beautifully marry classical renditions with a contemporary twist, from Continuum, a neoclassical ballet set to the music of Gabriel Faure, to an adaptation of Bizet’s Carmen.
