Author talk at Red Shoes

Next Tuesday, May 24, The Red Shoes Center will host an author talk with Katie Wainwright, author of the memoir Cuba on My Mind, in which she recalls her childhood growing up in pre-revolutionary Cuba. Her Scottish father worked for United Fruit Company, and she grew up with comforts that contrasted sharply with the poverty experienced by the Cuban majority. Wainwright will read excerpts and sign copies of her book, in addition to leading a discussion of the country. Admission is $7. More information at theredshoes.org.
