Unexpectedly falling for a beautiful ballerina unlocks one of life’s great mysteries for Matt Damon’s politician in The Adjustment Bureau, a supernatural thriller based on an eerie short story by sci-fi icon Philip K. Dick that is new in stores this week. After a chance meeting with a young dancer played by Emily Blunt, Damon is thrust into a secret world of intrigue and manipulation when he meets a society of seemingly all-powerful figures who claim to control the fates of everyone in the world by monitoring events, changing people’s paths and making sure those who are supposed to meet do and those who are not never know each other. After being told that he and Blunt were never intended to meet, that their relationship would destroy both of their lives, Damon and Blunt go on the run from the adjusters in an attempt to free themselves from the dark fate that has been prophesied for them.
