Asian fusion
Parking is scarce, but flavorful dishes and variety are not. From 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m, Monday through Saturday, a number of regional Asian cuisines such as Thai and Japanese and a Hibachi lunch ($9-$15) are available at Wasabi Asian Fusion, Sushi and Hibachi. Wasabi’s eight Bento boxes offer a little bit of everything: an entree, soup, salad, sushi and fried rice. In addition to more traditional Asian lunch entrees, Wasabi offers a fantastic Thai curry. In the Thai Peanut Curry ($8), tender chicken, broccoli, bell pepper and onions swim in a creamy peanut sauce with a bold, spicy kick. Wasabi’s Maki lunch contains two rolls for $8.50 or three for $12.50 from a select list that includes the Baton Rouge Roll with its fresh salmon, crisp avocado and cucumber. It’s a perfect roll for a modest but grand lunch. —Sheila De Guzman
