Arts: Best Bets
Every photo tells a story, and every legendary actor or musician has plenty of stories to tell. For more than 45 years, Jack Mitchell photographed celebrities for the likes of Rolling Stone, Time, Vogue and more—from Meryl Streep to John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Their expressive faces and personalities shine through in a collection of black-and-white images on display now at the Manship Theatre’s second floor gallery in the Shaw Center for the Arts until June 30. On June 5, the theater will host a slide show and lecture on Mitchell’s works followed by a dance performance in the gallery. Choreographer Mina Estrada created the new performance, inspired by Mitchell’s photos. Find out more at manshiptheatre.org.
