Arts: Best Bets

The Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge is celebrating the memory of its former president, Derek Gordon—who died last September—with a concert event to benefit the arts fund established in his honor. The Sept. 10 “Living Legacy” concert at the Manship Theatre features world-renowned jazz vocalists Kurt Elling and Vanessa Rubin, jazz pianist Fred Hersch and classical guitarist Berta Rojas. The gallery at Manship Theatre will also host a special exhibit of artwork from the Derek E. Gordon art collection throughout the month. Tickets are $75-$100 and include a reception before the concert. artsbr.org
