Peter Shire’s sculptures look like a Joan Miró or Fernand Léger painting in 3-D form, and you can see a retrospective of his work in three different ways this month. Shire is currently the Nadine Carter Russell Endowed Chair for 2013 at the LSU College of Art+Design, and his works—including 40 years of functional furniture, sculpture and drawings—are on view downtown at the LSU Museum of Art (Practically Absurd, Jan. 31-April 14) and the Glassell Gallery (Jan. 31-March 24), as well as the LSU Union Gallery (Feb. 1-24). lsumoa.com
