Around Chimes Street: Geauld Tiger’s in, Momma Goldberg’s Deli out

There’s a bit of a mix-up in the fast food game near LSU’s north gates. Mamma Goldberg’s Deli, a sub, salad and nacho restaurant from Auburn that opened in the College Row shopping center last summer, closed just one year later. The deli’s corporate office had not responded to e-mails about the close. Across the street, Geauld Tiger’s Asian Fast Food opened three weeks ago in the spot where Ali Baba Greek Restaurant was located on Chimes Street (Map it!) next door to Chinese Combo King. The new restaurant comes from the owners and cooks from Red Flower, the local favorite on Highland Road that closed about three years ago. For more information on Geauld Tiger’s, call 615-8838.
