An amazing use of citrus
One of Louisiana’s most interesting coffee traditions is still little known in Baton Rouge, at least on a large scale. Café Brulot is warm and romantic, a stellar accompaniment to a whopping slice of King Cake. Think Irish Coffee gone Creole. The combination of dark roast coffee spiked with brandy, then finished off with citrus peel and cinnamon gives the kitchen one last blast of wintry festivity before spring sets in. If you’re a Brulot veteran, tell us your stories. If not, try this sultry version from Chef John Folse.
