Alt-rock invades Mud and Water tonight

Four alt-rock bands perform at Mud and Water tonight, including Caddywhompus, Baby Boy, Shmu and Natural Blonde. Caddywhompus, a New Orleans duo, is currently playing new songs from a forthcoming release. Natural Blonde, another New Orleans band, released a strong, self-titled EP last summer. Local songwriter showcase. Royal Cyclops presents a night of tunes from Eli Seals with David Craig at Red Dragon Listening Room. 7:30 p.m.
Matt Wertz, Grant Terry. A singer-songwriter double bill at The Varsity. Tickets are $15 online and $18 at the doors. Doors open at 8 p.m.
John Autin. The singer-songwriter performs a free show at Tallulah inside the Renaissance Hotel. 6 p.m.-9 p.m.

Drop the needle: Bob Dylan’s Blood on the Tracks. Local musicians Ben Bell, Clay Parker, Ryan Harris and many more perform the classic album in full at Chelsea’s Café. $8. 7:30 p.m.
The Zip Ties. A free show of variety music and covers at The Varsity. Doors open at 8 p.m. The show starts at 9 p.m.

Fito Blanko, Sargento Y Rowell, DJ Casper, DJ Chilly. Latin Grammy-nominated artist Blanko performs at The Varsity. Tickets are $15 online and $20 at the doors. Doors open at 9 p.m.
PJ Bond, Marko Casso. The singer-songwriter performs an early show at Mud and Water. $7. 9 p.m.
Naughty Professor, Moon Sugar. Two rockin’ funk bands perform at Mud and Water. $8. 11 p.m.

Mississippi Rail Co., Minos the Saint.Two pop-rock bands perform at Mud and Water. 9 p.m.
Startisan, Jason Martin, The Gillis Silo, Stone Rabbits. Local rock and country bands take the stage at The Varsity. Tickets are $10 here. Doors open at 8 p.m. The show starts at 9 p.m.
Squirt Gun Warriors, Joystick, Moonsugar. Ska, punk, indie and more at Hartley/Vey Studio at the Manship Theatre. Tickets are $10 online. 8 p.m.
DJ Jubilee acoustic show. The performer’s second-ever acoustic show with the Big Easy Bounce Band at Spanish Moon. DJ Mike Larry will also be spinning. Doors open at 9 p.m.
Flow Tribe. The funk band performs at Chelsea’s Café. 10:30 p.m.

Those Darlins, Molly Taylor, Bully. Three rock bands perform at Spanish Moon next Tuesday. Tickets are $10 online. 9 p.m.
