MFA candidate Melissa Precise opens her new exhibit, “Farewell Works,” at the Arts Council’s Firehouse Gallery this Friday. The new pieces will be on display through July 3. An opening reception for the showcase will be held next Friday, June 20, at 5 p.m.

The Library at Northgate (136 W. Chimes St.) hosts Wax On Wax Off!!!, a monthly celebration of art, music and community Friday. Doors open at 8 p.m. Works include paintings from Michael Walker and homemade jewelry from With Love From Neon and Carlina Robert. Jarred Monson performs at 9 p.m. Paul O’Neill performs at 11:30 p.m. Cover is $5.
