All inmate rodeo saddles up

The “Wildest Show in the South,” the Angola Prison Rodeo, rides again Saturday, April 19 and Sunday, April 20 at the Louisiana State Penitentiary and it’s not just about roping and riding. Plan to feast on everything from burgers and dogs to jambalaya and boudin balls. Before the heart-stopping, nail-biting rodeo action begins, peruse inmate arts and crafts or treat the kids to pony rides and carnival games. Tickets are $10. Gates open at 9 a.m. Rodeo begins at 2 p.m. Crafts open until 5 p.m. (File photo)
