Aaron Ralston at LSU

Mountaineer, author and inspiration for the Oscar-nominated film 127 Hours, Aron Ralston will visit the LSU Union Theatre on Tuesday to give a talk about his harrowing survival in the Utah wilderness. Despite the trauma of his experience, in which he was forced to amputate his arm with a pocketknife after being pinned under a half-ton boulder for nearly a week, Ralston has continued to be an active outdoorsman, recently becoming the first amputee to row his own craft through the Grand Canyon, and is the only disabled person to have skied from the summit of Denali. The talk is free and open to the public. 6-8 p.m.
