A ‘Fresh’ idea
Beginning next week, you’ll be able to get something healthier brought to the office than the usual choices of pizza or Chinese food. Patrick Fellows of Fresh Salads and Wraps inside Main Street Market downtown is starting a delivery service for his garden-fresh meals. Customers will be able to order online from their website, freshjunkie.com by selecting an “order for delivery” option that will launch Tuesday morning. Simply place your order by 10 a.m., and they call to schedule your delivery time. Then you just sit back and wait for your veggie-packed goodness to arrive. Fellows got the idea when several customers lamented that they couldn’t drive downtown for lunch, since their offices were too far away. “I realized there really weren’t any healthy options for delivery in Baton Rouge,” he says. Although they’re starting out with a limited route, if things go well, Fellows plans on expanding their service area even further, with a facility geared exclusively towards prepping and delivering meals. “Right now we’re just testing things out, getting our feet wet,” he says. There will be a $25 minimum on orders, and the service time will be limited from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., although Fellows admits that’s in flux as well. “In the future, if we get enough demand, we might extend our hours,” he says.
