A foundation in history

The Foundation for Historical Louisiana will present their 26th annual commemorative ceremony for the Battle of Baton Rouge at Magnolia Cemetery on Saturday. Some of the fiercest Civil War fighting in Louisiana took place in and near the cemetery, making it both burial and battle ground. Find famous gravesites on the grounds and catch a lecture by park ranger Mike Fraering on the subject of the historic fight and Union victory. Free to the public. 10 a.m. -11 a.m.
