A CHAIRitable affair

Sit down, relax and pull up a chair. On second thought, don’t sit … These aren’t chairs for sitting. They’re chairs for bidding.

Woman’s Hospital hosts the first Rock-N-CHAIRity auction Aug. 25 at Lyceum Dean on Third Street downtown. Artists from all over the Capital Region have created one-of-a-kind chairs and original artworks based on their interpretation of the “chair” through a variety of media.

Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Community Care Fund at Woman’s to help pay for the Better Beginnings Program, the Neurodevelopmental Clinic, as well as providing special-needs assistance to patients and care for victims of sexual assault.

Tickets are $50, and the evening will feature live entertainment by the V-Tones and food from Ruffino’s, Bistro Byronz, Sullivan’s, Bonefish Grill and more.

HDTV celebrity interior designer Kenneth Brown will emcee. A graduate of the LSU School of Design, Brown is one of Los Angeles’ most sought-after designers. He was recently named one of the Top 100 Designers in America by House Beautiful and Western Interiors. He is also the host of the top-rated television show, reDesign, on HGTV.
