A buddy battle

La Carreta hosts a Battle of the Bands on Thursday in support of Best Buddies Louisiana, a program that provides volunteers and mentoring to children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Seven bands (Devil and the Details, Silent Cinema, Hudson Long & the Wild Blue Yonder, Peter Simon, the Greg Talmage Band, and Borderline Kuckoo) will battle it out in a fundraising competition, accompanied by a tantalizing tequila tasting. 15% of La Carreta’s profits for the night will also go towards funding Best Buddies programs across the state, so party down for a worthy cause. 5 p.m. until close.
