54 versions of jambalaya

Starting as early as 4 a.m. last Friday, 54 teams of refinery employees competed in the 23rd Annual ExxonMobil United Way Jambalaya Cook-Off. The teams served up their take on the traditional Louisiana dish, with ingredients paid for by the refinery, feeding more than 3,000 Exxon employees and families in attendance, and kicking off the company’s United Way campaign. Some teams got creative with the festivities. The jambalaya dishes were judged by a team of local leaders, chefs and media members, and the winning team, Johan Lee, Kelly Hooks, Mark Giurintano and Chris Duet—dubbed “From the South to Your Mouth”—will go on to represent Exxon at United Way’s Jambalaya Jam Oct. 11.
