30 seconds with Lori Fry – Looking beyond EBRPSS

An office manager for inoLECT and mother of two, Lori Fry supports a proposed breakaway school district for the southeastern portion of East Baton Rouge Parish. As proposed, such a district would include Jefferson Terrace Elementary, Southeast Middle School, Woodlawn High School and others.

Our current school system is failing, and our children deserve a chance.

The new school system would give every child the chance to obtain a magnet school education.

No. I am a concerned parent recognizing that the EBRP School District has failed our children. Community schools have a proven success record.

A community school system with strong partnerships among parents, teachers and principals, coupled with support and autonomy of the teacher and principal, can only lead to greater discipline.

A unified and functional school board that supports the school system instead of its own agenda makes for a productive, safe and successful school system.

With a community-based school system, with strong partnerships between the teachers and principals, a functioning school board and a school system with the ability to quickly and effectively adjust to meet the needs of our children.

All children will be able to go to their neighborhood school.

That there will be a need for more schools due to a population increase in the selected area.
