21 is out now on DVD

This is kind of like a combination of two Matt Damon movies: Good Will Hunting and Rounders. Throw in Ocean’s Eleven, and that makes three. But it happens to be based on a true story. Using Ben Mezrich’s book Bringing Down the House as inspiration, 21 follows five MIT students and their wildcard professor who trains them to count cards and take a Vegas casinos for hundreds of thousands in cash. Jim Sturgess plays the lead, underdog role as the smart kid from the wrong side of the tracks who really needs this money to pay his tuition. Kate Bosworth, Laurence Fishburne and Kevin Spacey co-star. Rated R.
