20th annual Festival of Negro Spirituals

Heritage, the Baton Rouge-based ensemble dedicated to the preservation and performance of Negro spirituals, will host the 20th annual Festival of Negro Spirituals this Saturday at Mt. Zion First Baptist Church on East Boulevard. Choral ensembles from New Orleans to Denver will entertain with beautiful music that grew out of the worst of circumstances. Free and open to the public. 3 p.m.
