Moon Honey releases album, new video
While the Baton Rouge band Moon Honey is wrapping up its tour of the West coast, its new album Hand-Painted Dream Photographs saw a release on iTunes this week.
In our November issue, we talked with members of Moon Honey about the long process of making the album and their collaborations with Deerhoof’s Greg Saunier, Steve Fallone—who mastered albums for The Strokes, TV on the Radio and others—and local musicians like Dave Hinson of the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra and Andrew Callaway of England in 1819.
The end result is an ambitious expansion of the band’s art-rock sensibilities, and you can check out our story on the making of the new album here.

The band returns to Louisiana later this month, performing at Gasa Gasa in New Orleans Dec. 20. They’ll return to Baton Rouge Jan. 18 with a show at the Hartley/Vey Studios in the Shaw Center for the Arts with England in 1819 opening.
In preparation for their Louisiana shows, you can preview the full album through the Spotify stream below.
Vocalist Jessica Ramsey created a music video for the Dream Photographs track “Lady Lazarus,” hand-splicing some weird and slightly disturbing reel-to-reel film in much the same way she does for projections during their live shows. Check out that video below:
