20 years later, a reminder to nurture Mother Earth

-

It’s been 20 years since Baton Rouge’s original Earth Day celebration downtown, which means there’s a full generation of young adults who’ve been educated about taking care of Mother Earth since birth. The original slogan, “Think Globally, Act Locally,” will also be this year’s slogan, as the Louisiana Earth Day celebration has become one of the largest environmental festivals in the nation. Live music by Cowboy Mouth and Tab Benoit, plus plenty of carnie food favorites, petting zoos and sustainability education. Also, Red Shoes hosts a shoe swap, so revamp your closet at their booth (details at theredshoes.org). The all-day event this Sunday is free. Visit earthdaybr.org for details. (File photo)
