13th Gate brings the scares

Halloween is looming—have you gotten into the spirit of things yet? The nation’s premiere haunted house is right here at home—the terrifying 13th Gate is now open every night until Halloween, offering 40,000 square feet of thrills, chills and pants-wetting terror. A construction crew and a cast of over 100 professional actors, makeup artists and costumers rose to the challenge of making this year the biggest test of your courage yet. But if one haunted hause doesn’t offer enough thrills for you, victims—er, visitors—can opt for a new attraction across the street: an outdoor New Orleans-style cemetery called Necropolis 13. Hiding in its shadows will be 50 actors in full costume as vampires, zombies and other undead horrors. There’s even a voodoo fire show to “summon the dead” put on by a professional fire performance troupe. All that’s on top of the 100 actors already prowling the labyrinthine 13th Gate.
