With the LSU-Alabama game coming up this Saturday, fans will be anxiously lining up to get into Tiger Stadium for the showdown.
But there’s excitement beyond the football field. Some of Baton Rouge’s most popular local restaurants and locally owned franchises offer gameday dishes that stand out from the typical concession food.
LSU Dining Senior Director of Operations Jack Cruise says he gets contacted all the time by vendors looking to sell their speciality products in the stadium. Working with the vendors, Cruise says they come up with a menu that can be served quickly but also gives game attendees a taste of what the restaurant has to offer.

“It’s just a unique opportunity for us and for the local vendor that really benefits the fan,” he says.

Here are some of the unique vendors that serve in Tiger Stadium and a sampling of their menus:
City Pork Brasserie & Bar: Big Pig Pulled Pork Sandwich, Pulled Pork Nachos and BBQ Popcorn
The Kolache Kitchen: Sausage and Cheese Kolache, Boudin Kolache, Bacon and Cheese Kolache and Pulled Pork Sandwich
Lava Cantina: Lava Cantina Fiesta Dog, Brisket Nachos, Mexican Rice Jambalaya, Chicken Fajita Wrap and Rock ‘n Pops

Kona Ice: Snowcones
Jambalaya by Shake: Red Beans and Rice, Boudin and Alligator Balls, Meat Pies, Éttouffée, Cheeseburger and Sausage Poboy
(Smashburger and Papa John’s Pizza also provides concessions stations in the stadium through local franchisees)
Note: While LSU doesn’t provide a specific map of vendor locations in Tiger Stadium, Cruise says the local vendors mentioned above are spread evenly throughout the stadium and accessible to most ticket holders.
