Dine Roundup: Twine meat market opening, downtown burger competition and more food news
Twine meat market scheduled to open next week
Local caterer Steven Diehl’s meat market Twine is set to open in Mid City next Friday, Aug. 12, according to a press release. The market was first announced about two years ago with plans to open that fall on Acadian Thruway.
After some delays and a location change, the specialty food and meat market will now make its home in the Model Block, 2921 Government St. The market will feature prepared foods, hand-cut local beef, pork, chicken, seafood and several side dishes, according to the release.
Diehl plans to partner with local farmers and producers to provide fresh and seasonal items to customers.
