Volunteer with the mobile pantry this weekend

The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank is again hosting a mobile pantry to provide food for the needy as the holiday season approaches. This Saturday, Nov. 14, volunteers will hand out food outside Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1565 Curtis St.

The mobile pantry starts at 9 a.m., weather permitting, and volunteers are asked to arrive 7:45 a.m. to begin preparations. To volunteer or for more information, contact Edgar Cage, co-chair of Together Baton Rouge‘s food research action team, at [email protected].

Heads up: White Light Night returns Friday, Nov. 20

Thanksgiving is quickly approaching, and that means Mid City’s most anticipated party is on its way, too.

At 6 p.m. the Friday before Thanksgiving, local artists, food trucks and other vendors line the sidewalks of Government Street for White Light Night.

So far, food vendors include Reginelli’s Pizzeria, Mestizo Louisiana Mexican Cuisine, Smashburger and more. Stay tuned with 225 Dine for the full list of vendors and locations next week.
