If you’ve been paying attention to Baton Rouge’s growth in the past few years, you know Mid City has quickly bloomed into the hippest area of town.
Many believe the Ogden Park neighborhood—home of The Radio Bar, Atomic Pop Shop, Time Warp and many more hotspots—has led the charge in revitalizing Mid City. The unfamiliar can get to know this buzzworthy area at Ogden Park Prowl, a neighborhood arts festival showcasing the best of Ogden Park on Saturday, Sept. 26, 1 p.m.-6 p.m.

In addition to live entertainment, open houses and art displays, there will be plenty of food and refreshments throughout the eight colorful blocks.

“Ogden Park is a unique, little neighborhood in Baton Rouge,” says Robin Neil, head of Ogden Park Prowl’s food committee. “We value community and friendship, and there is no better way to make friends than over a good meal… The Ogden Park Prowl is our attempt to further this growing sense of community and celebrate the food and people who make this neighborhood so inviting.”
Savory options include barbecue from the Pullin’ Pork food truck, homemade Cajun specialties from Supper Solutions, Creole/Mexican fusion by Mestizo, City Pork Brasserie & Bar’s pulled pork sandwiches, Chicken Shack’s famous fried chicken, seafood from Pit-N-Peel, American fare from the Fleur deLicious truck, samplings from Culinary Productions catering company and hot dogs (with lemonade) served up by the Greater Mt. Gideon Youth Group.

For those with a sweet tooth, the fest will offer creative popsicles from POPculture POPS, cool treats from the City Gelato truck and a bake sale hosted by the Delta Literary Journal. Visitors can also quench their thirst with lemonade from Louisiana Lemonade or coffee from a CC’s Streetside Cafe located near Radio Bar.
Ogden Park prowlers can also bring the neighborhood flavor home with them by picking up some homemade jam from Grinning Jupiter Jammery, spice blends from Red Stick Spice Company and Mid City’s finest honey from Beehive Works.
