Red Stick Farmers Market celebrates tomatoes this Saturday, June 20

Fresh Fest is back at the Red Stick Farmers Market.

The annual summer celebration that highlights seasonal produce weekly returned at the beginning of June. This weekend, the spotlight turns to the tomato for the Tomato Me Crazy event at the market.

Festivities begin at 8 a.m. at Fifth and Main streets in downtown Baton Rouge Saturday, June 20.

The event features chef Brant Palazzo of D’Angelo’s offering summer recipes during the weekly Fresh from the Market cooking demonstration with chef Celeste Gill inside Main Street Market at 10 a.m. Local farmers will also have tasting samples of a variety of Louisiana tomatoes growing during the summer.
