Baton Rouge Music Studios gets in the holiday spirit with three shows
Students from Baton Rouge Music Studios will show off their skills this weekend. The Capital City music education venue hosts three all-ages shows Saturday, Dec. 6. The festivities begin at 12:30 p.m. with performances from the RockLab Band Southern Crossing and the Young Band Salt in Pepper. Music continues at 3 p.m., and the event concludes with an all-ages blues project show at 7:30 p.m. Doors for the final show open at 7 p.m. Tickets for non-studio members are $10. Burden Center hosts StoryTime
Enjoy the scenery and holiday stories at the Burden Center’s Orangerie Saturday, Dec. 6. The special StoryTime event kicks off at 9 a.m., and will feature readings and activities every 30 minutes. Children ages 3-8 can also participate in imagination-themed activities related to the holiday season. Admission is free. For more information, click here.

See the play Twas the Night Before Christmas at Manship Theatre Sunday, Dec. 7. The venue will host a special Kids Club event at 12:30 p.m. Space is limited, and the event is free for Kids Club and Family members, or $10 for the general public. Manship Theatre screens The Muppet Christmas Carol Sunday, Dec. 7, at 6 p.m. Tickets are $7. The G-rated film features Kermit, Miss Piggy and all your favorite Muppets in a retelling of Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol. At 5 p.m., the venue will also screen the Jim Henson short Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas. For more information, click here.
