Family picks: BRSO Family Chamber Series, Kids’ Lab

Hear Baroque music performed by the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra
Enjoy classical music with the entire family this week. The Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra will perform classic compositions of the Baroque era Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church as part of the organization’s Family Chamber Series. The set list includes pieces of music from Tartini, Handel and Locatelli. Get creative with chemistry at Kids’ Lab
Bring your lab coats to the Louisiana Art & Science Museum for this month’s edition of Kids’ Lab. This time around, participants will explore what they have in common with a banana and get a first-hand look at the cells and organisms that make life possible. Participants will receive a backpack with surprises. The event runs Saturday at 10:15 a.m., noon and 2 p.m., and Sunday at 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. For more information, click here.

Special Olympics Louisiana hosts a Unified Flag Football Game Saturday at the LSU UREC Field. The free festivities start at 8 a.m. and include appearances by Mike the Tiger and the Tiger Girls. Get more information.
