A motivated widow returns to her hometown in New Venture Theatre’s latest production. The local company presents The Trip to Bountiful this week. Performances start Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the Hartley/Vey Studio Theatre and continue Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets are $20. Written by Horton Foote and directed by Ashley D. Self, The Trip to Bountiful follows Carrie Watts, who escapes her daughter-in-law’s cramped apartment in Houston to return to her hometown, Bountiful. The show is rated G.
