Pick up produce and more at Thursday’s Farmers Market
Get everything you need for your Fourth of July festivities at the Red Stick Farmers Market Thursday. The market will set up behind Pennington Biomedical Research Center at 6400 Perkins Road from 8 a.m.-noon. This week’s market is dubbed “Farm to Fourth” and features an expanded group of local farmers and food artisans. Choose from produce such as watermelon, sweet corn, blueberries, peaches, tomatoes and more. Samples of barbecue sandwiches and other treats will also be available throughout the morning. If you miss out tomorrow, check out Saturday’s market, which kicks off at 8 a.m. and features music from local trumpeter John Gray. The weekend event at Fifth and Main streets also features a cooking demonstration with Sara Vincent local dressings and marinade company Re: inside the Main Street Market.
