WRAPPING UP ITS RETURN to the Old State Capitol, an exhibit of works by the late photographer Fonville Winans is currently on view. A respected regional photographer known for his beautiful depictions of life in south Louisiana, Winans was at one point the state’s official photographer. It all started when he left a job at the Ft. Worth Telegram in 1932 and set out in a small boat with two friends to document the coastal bayous. The exhibit features many original signed prints by Winans and a small collection of sepia prints. Winans’ works will be on view until July 12. louisianaoldstatecapitol.org
STARTING JULY 8: Swine Palace’s Summer Fest features two productions in July: Shakespearean classic Romeo and Juliet (July 8-13) and a farcical adaptation of Moliere’s The Misanthrope with The School for Lies (July 22-27). swinepalace.org
