What’s New – July

Beausoleil Restaurant & Bar got more comfortable in its space last month, adding a new bar and banquet space. The new concrete-top bar features room for 16 patrons, and the banquet space that holds 50 is located in the back of the Bocage-area restaurant. The restaurant has hosted a few events, including Pig & Plough Suppers’ Baton Rouge debut. A Trade Winds Dinner and more events are in the works, says co-owner Jeffrey Conaway.

“We have space for beer, wine and cocktail dinners,” he says. “We’ll have a new one every month. We want you to feel like you’re at home, and then let us take care of you.” The bar highlights beer and the restaurant’s signature and seasonal cocktails and has two 45-inch TVs. beausoleilrestaurantandbar.com

Houma-based donut sHop Mr. Ronnie’s Famous Hot Donuts has made its Baton Rouge debut. The new shop opened in early June on Lee Drive near Highland and operates 24 hours a day. Director of Franchise Development Rocky McMillan says a Baton Rouge location was a “no-brainer.” Like its Houma predecessor, Mr. Ronnie’s Capitol City location will serve fresh donuts that have no preservatives or additives. The business does classics like hot glazed, chocolate and sprinkle-covered donuts as well as twists, filled donuts, cake donuts, puffed pastries, eclairs, donut holes and kolaches. Mr. Ronnie’s also serves signature mini burgers that come in orders of three, six or 12. A grand opening event for the Lee Drive location is planned for the fall. mrronnies.com
