White Out

Beware, I am about to say something revolutionary: The Little White Dress (LWD) is a top trend right now. Okay, so it’s not revolutionary, but too many designers have shown collections in all white for us to ignore it! Wearing an all white look can be intimidating! The potential stains, the agony of how to accessorize, and the question of whether or not it is a socially appropriate color for an occasion, all of these are concerns when wearing an all white look.

This summer, try your hand at an all white, or all nearly white look. Whether it is a dress, pants, shorts, or a skirt & blouse combination, it can be done! I chose to stick to dresses, as they are the easiest thing for a woman to wear. No fuss, no issues of the shorts length being proportional to the blouse length, etc. Slip it on and bam, outfit created. The crčme midi dress is a great summer option. The tea length is so elegant and ladylike, while the sleeveless bodice shows a good amount of skin. A color blocked option with leather detailing would be fun year round. In the colder months all you need is a sweater over your shoulders and a pair of tights on your gams to transition, making it a smart purchase. The most summery option of them all, however, is a sleeveless mini dress. Worn with flats, sandals, or heels, it can be easily dressed up or down.

The shoe situation definitely depends on your personality. A slip-on sandal is casual, breezy, and perfect for strolling along exploring Santorini (hey, a girl can dream!). A gladiator sandal is more structured in appearance, but the embossed alligator strap gives a luxurious punch to an otherwise simple sandal. If you’re adventurous and sporty, a neutral pair of sneakers make for a spunky base to a flirty dress. A structured, basis satchel will take you wherever you go this season, and adding a touch of color on your cheeks and lips help give you a luscious summer glow, even if your toes haven’t been in the sand yet this year. The sheer cheek stain from Pixi is a lightweight touch of color perfect for these humid months. To prevent suffering from melting lip stick syndrome, opt for a tinted balm instead. Be aware that this particular color is for those not afraid of a bright pink lip, but even simply dabbed in a few places gives a wake up call to your face after a night of summer fun.

What do you think? How will you try the all white trend this summer?
