Baton Rouge gets second place in ‘ConventionSouth’ poll
ConventionSouth gave a tip of the hat to the Capital City in its annual readers’ choice awards highlighting “The South’s Best Foodie Cities For Groups.” In the readers poll, Baton Rouge placed second in the Gulf States/Caribbean Region, below New Orleans and ahead of Miami, Florida. The category is one of four and encompasses four states—Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi and Florida—as well as the Caribbean seas. Voters made their selection from an online ballot of more than 50 cities located across 16 southern states in Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Gulf States/Caribbean and Southwest regions. Cities made the ballot based on nominations from readers as well as each city’s reputation for hosting conventions and having good food, restaurants and chefs nearby for attendees. Last year, the Capital City was the first place winner for the Gulf States region. Baton Rouge is featured in May’s issue of ConventionSouth. See the full results.
