The 411 on this week’s Farmers Market activities

Today’s Red Stick Farmers Market at 6400 Perkins Rd. behind Pennington Biomedical Research Center and mobile markets at 3535 Riley St. and 950 E. Washington St. are closed because of rainy weather. However, this weekend’s farmers market will be open rain or shine Saturday at Fifth and Main streets downtown during its normal hours of 8 a.m.-noon. Participating vendors at this weekend’s market include gourmet artisan cheeses from Belle Écorce, mixed vegetables and honey from Chenier Family Farm, flower and herb seedlings from Greenhand Nursery, farm fresh eggs from Naquin Family Farm, pasture-raised chicken from Yard Bird Farm and much more.
