An Americana singer-songwriter brings his stories to Mud and Water tonight. Seattle’s Damien Jurado will perform at 9 p.m. Luke Ash and Jodi James will open. Tickets are $15. Tonight’s show is Jurado’s only Louisiana appearance on the tour in support of his latest album, Brothers and Sisters of the Eternal Son, which is a “semi-sequel” to his 2012 release Maraqopa. Throughout his career, Jurado enjoyed a cult following, thanks to his steady release of lo-fi cassettes in the mid ’90s. He then partnered with producers such as Pedro the Lion’s David Bazan and Richard Swift, honing his indie rock sound and gaining more fans with each release. Critics are calling Jurado’s latest his strongest work to date. Get more information on the show and RSVP.
