Portland’s Todd Snider visits Baton Rouge Saturday for a folk-heavy set. The singer-songwriter will perform at Manship Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $40. Gina Forsyth will open the show. Snider has had quite the career. In 1994, his MCA debut Songs for the Daily Planet received critical acclaim, thanks in part to the minor hit “Talkin’ Seattle Grunge Rock Blues,” a folk song about the early ’90s grunge scene. In 2012, he released Agnostic Hymns and Stoner Fables, which was included in Rolling Stone‘s top 50 albums list, labeling the songwriter as one of the sharpest storytellers in rock.
