Rick Springfield performs at Manship Theatre

The Grammy winner behind hits such as “Jessie’s Girl” will perform as a part of Manship Theatre’s 2014 Red Carpet Gala Fundraiser Thursday. Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. and feature a silent auction, hors d’oeuvres and drinks as well as Rick Springfield in concert. As of late, Springfield has been touring with Pat Benetar and Neil Giraldo. The Australian singer-songwriter is set to release his debut fiction novel Magnificent Vibration this year and was featured in Dave Grohl’s 2013 documentary Sound City. Tickets for the gala start at $150.

The Revivalists, Moon Taxi, Stone Rabbits. Three indie rock bands perform at The Varsity. Tickets are $15. Doors open at 8 p.m.
Green Room Series: Charlie and the Foxtrots, Rollfast Ramblers. Folk musicians bring their jams to Mud and Water. 9 p.m. $5.
Songwriter’s Showcase. Royal Cyclops presents a performance from Matthew Sylvest, Clay Parker and Bill Romano at Red Dragon Listening Room. 7:30 p.m. $5 suggested donation.

Figure, High Top Kicks, Klutch. EDM takes over The Varsity. Tickets are $15. Doors open at 8 p.m. The show starts at 8:30 p.m.
Lynn Anselmo Songwriters Night. Local singer-songwriters take the stage at the side bar at Chelsea’s Café. 7 p.m.
Rock N Rowe. The Carbon Copy Band performs at Perkins Rowe’s Town Square Park as part of the free concert series. 6 p.m.-9 p.m.

Tech N9NE, Krizz Kaliko, Freddie Gibbs, Jarren Benton. Hip-hop and rap performers come to The Varsity. Tickets are $20. Doors open at 8 p.m. The show starts at 8:45 p.m.
Live After Five. Jonathan “Boogie” Long performs in the annual free concert series at North Boulevard’s Town Square. 5 p.m.
An evening with Henry Turner Jr. and Friends. Blues music at Mud and Water. Flavor and The Rakers will also perform. 9 p.m.
Brook Sutton and Friends. Enjoy funk music at Chelsea’s Café. 10:30 p.m.
Clarence Carter. The R&B singer performs a free show at Belle of Baton Rouge. Doors open at 7 p.m. The show starts at 8 p.m.
